Dear our valued Family Eye Care of Atlanta patients,
We are receiving updates daily and want to communicate with you our efforts to maintain our social responsibility to our community, patients, staff and Doctors.
Currently, there have been CDC guidelines posted for healthcare facilities in the hardest-hit communities by COVID-19. Although these guidelines have not yet been posted for Georgia to date, we are looking ahead and implementing the recommended guidelines posted for Seattle.
We will remain open normal business hours Monday-Thursday. Our doors will remain locked to control crowding in our facility and reduce patient to patient contact. Therefore, if you receive a phone call or text to wait outside or in the car, know that it is our best attempt at following and respecting the guidelines set forth.
Non-urgent appointments will be re-scheduled effective 3/23. Urgent appointments will be available during limited office hours. Triage will be via a return phone call and patients with urgent symptoms will be scheduled for our next available appointment. As a service to our colleagues in urgent care, emergency room and primary care clinics, we prefer you to route your eye care concerns to our office. After hours instructions are available via our regular phone number 404-549-9999.
As you know, we typically welcome the entire family to accompany you to your visit. However, due to limited capacity to avoid crowding, we ask that only the patient and guardian attend the visit. We have removed toys and chairs from the waiting area.
One staff member will remain with you during your visit and will screen you prior to your exam including taking a non-contact temperature reading. All instruments or items, handles, pens, and other materials touched will be disinfected prior to and after your visit per our usual process using a disinfectant that kills Coronaviruses amongst other germs.
We respect our littlest patients’ fears and plan to use latex free gloves and masks if needed at our discretion. Putting safety first, please talk to your child about their visit and ask us for help if you need any guidance.
We understand and agree that your vision is important, requests for material eyewear and contact lenses will be processed according to the level of urgency, as identified by a combination of your prescription and our supply. As usual, we encourage you to own back-up eyewear in the event we are unable to get contact lenses to you.
We ask for your patience and grace as we navigate CDC recommendations, ensuring that we prioritize health and well-being of our patients and staff during a time where changes are occurring constantly. We urge you to communicate with us via text or email whenever possible to allow us to monitor communication after hours.
